Solar Eclipse 2015

The clouds just about beat me, but they cleared just enough for me to capture the Solar Eclipse 2015.

Having experienced a full solar eclipse in 2001 in the bush in Zimbabwe, I had decided that I was not going to chase the eclipse. A cloudy day meant a longer lie in, a sunny day meant visiting the local lake or town centre and capturing the eclipse. It was a cloudy day. The camera gear was ready for action, but the sun just wasn’t there, only a bright patch in the clouds.

The day started to get dark, but with that weird light that seems to go with a partial eclipse. Suddenly there was a bit of light. The clouds had parted just enough to give some visibility of the sun, though there was still a layer of thin cloud there. At least I was able to capture these few photos.
